USING THE DATA DASHBOARD TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF GBV DATA REPORTING.

Save the Child Initiative (STCI) is a non-governmental organization located at Sokoto south LGA, Sokoto state. STCI promotes the overall development of women, youth and children through advocacy and sensitization. Mr. Rabiu Bello Gandi, M & E Manager STCI, narrates the impact of the National GBV dashboard on data collection and reporting within the organisation.

Mr. Rabiu Bello Gandi; M&E Manager, Save the Child Initiative (STCI) using the ReportGBV National data dashboard.

“Before the launch of the ReportGBV National data dashboard and situation room, we did not have a clear understanding of data collection and reporting. Data capturing was done using a tool designed by our organisation which didn’t capture all the necessary information from survivors/victims.”

With the introduction of a National harmonised data collation tool, we are now better equipped to capture and report GBV cases using indicators that meets global standards. The capacity building workshop organised by Population Council has strengthened our capacities on GBV collection, reporting and analysis. Generally, this has improved the quality of our work here at Save the Child Initiative (STCI).

One striking feature about the ReportGBV dashboard is the data analytics which helps us visualize data and understand the GBV patterns in the state. The data analytics also informs our advocacy and engagement of other stakeholders in the state. We will continue to use the data on the dashboard to plan future projects.
